If you feel like an alien in this life, if the human society looks like the world upside down, if you feel isolated and have existential anxiety, if you are drawn to the stars, feel homesick but don’t know where you truly belong, if you are yearning to change the world and don’t seem to fit anywhere, then you are a soul who is originally from another place than the Earth, that is a Starseed.
It took me years to unfold all the layers of trauma, heal my psyche and body, dive deeper and deeper into my soul, gather knowledge piece by piece, dismantle social constructs and rise above social conditioning to finally gain a few life-changing insights on who I am and where I come from. I am a soul who is not originally from Earth. Indigo, a Starseed, a galactic being who now wishes to share her experience of what it is like to be on the planet Earth, the world so alien to hers.
I know I came here by choice and until today I feel deeply concerned by the destiny of this planet, fascinated by its beauty, and strongly committed to healing and helping it in every way I can. I also wish to share how I see the current state of affairs here, in its whole dysfunctionality, contradiction, and absurdity. I will expose it through my Starseed eyes, to make it visible to others, so that we make one more step toward change.
Geopolitical division
Humans evolved into living as separate nations, having created artificial boundaries and unions between or against each other. Based on the level of wealth and a chosen political system, they cooperate or fight, with lots of expensive and wasteful consequences and many human lives suffering. They completely forgot that all people are the citizens of Earth, equal in their value and rights.
Politics and Governance
The most advanced and affluent places on the Earth are called democracies and have the so-called market economy. It means the governing minority is elected by the voting majority, entrusting them with the decisions on their lives as a nation. It happens that the election mechanisms are eroded and outdated, the public opinion is manipulated, and everything comes down to the power of money. Corporations, lobbies, and financial elites are the most powerful invisible governors, ensuring their interests are secured. Greed, the ego, and the lust for power are the main characters in this unfair game.
Multiple international institutions were created in the XXth century with the mission to stop wars, bring peace, justice and improve the human condition in the most disadvantaged places on Earth. Let’s take for instance the United Nations. A very rich organization, build on a very rigid hierarchy, having the goal to empower the weakest and feed the hungriest. It is headed by a white old western man with a salary equal to the one of a multinational CEO. Below him are the echelons of white-collar bureaucrats, drown in the paperwork and busy climbing the professional ladder. As a by-product, some countries receive supplementary budgets and are given development projects. As the main product, thousands of the “lucky” ones sit in the warm chairs, receiving generous salaries and never asking themselves whether they make any difference and whether they are in the right place ethically speaking.
It is painful to realize the hypocrisy of the human systems which were created for sustaining the values such as democracy and then corrupting them to the core with their own hands. I have personally witnessed fraud and corruption at the heart of the European democracy, at the European Commission. Because I raised my voice to disagree, I was blacklisted and excluded. For me, there is no money or power that can replace integrity and honesty. I have my karma clear.
Religion
The realm of faith in human society has been delegated to churches. They became human institutions just as others, plagued by games of influence, power, ego, rituals, and all kinds of prohibitions, breaching which leads you to the place of fear of guilt. Thou shalt not envy, though shalt not eat this or that animal, though shalt confess. And those who don’t belong to your cult are strangers and sinners. That is why what was meant to enlighten, unite people and bring them peace turned into long-standing hatred and wars. Somehow whole nations forgot that beyond religion is the infinite source of love and intelligence, that does not endorse this or that religion or church, it simply shines over anyone who is aware of its presence and wants to receive its grace.
Technology
Technology on Earth is at the early stage of development, it is prone to failure and has severe limitations. You may have had the frustrating experience of Bluetooth bugging in the car, having poor network coverage, or your laptop shutting down and erasing your files. There is a lot of technocratic ambition put forth by the elites on the global scale, however not with the purpose of serving humanity in its whole, or protecting the environment. Almost every human technology is dangerous, polluting, and/or unfair. Very often it is used to control, spy, or kill. Take one of the biggest technocrats, the richest man on the planet, and ask, does he really have justice, environment, and common interest in mind while pursuing his grand projects? How come the richest people on the planet barely do anything to remedy the most screaming problems of humanity?
Entertainment
The way humans entertain themselves often involves scenes of violence and cruelty. Most popular films contain murders, beatings, or other forms of abuse, or they simply show injustice, sadness, and despair. These are strong emotions that seem to be addictive to humans. Songs are filled with messages of pain, loss, and dependence on someone or something. Popular culture is filled with vulgarity, and brutal expressions of sexuality, with bodies exposed as objects of gaze and desire. Everything is centered around consumption as a way to distract yourself and fill the void within, which only grows bigger.
Football is the disease of the masses. The game of throwing a ball around a field has gathered millions of fans. Realizing that the budgets of it are a million times bigger than those dedicated to climate change is insane and deeply frightening. Humans as a collective are driven by the primary instincts of domination, reproduction, competition, and conquest much stronger than by the purpose to preserve their environment and therefore their own species.
Agriculture, food industry, and nutrition
As humans invented technology, they decided to harness and subdue nature by it. They started exploiting the Earth like it was inexhaustible and would withstand any quantities of chemistry and pollution. Animals became commodities and their suffering was completely ignored. Food became a matter of profit, and so it became transformed and processed. Soon it poisoned whole nations, causing massive disease, which again became a matter of profit. Like in most other fields vital to human survival, the strategies are always short-sighted and focused on the short-term gain.
Relationships
Unions between two people are bound by a lot of obligations and expectations, some of which make sense. It is rare that two people are genuinely happy in their monogamous, closed relationship, yet they have to stay inside them for years and decades, out of fear, family obligations, inertia, and compliance with “good morals”. Almost every human who has ever been in a relationship would confess that she or he found somebody else attractive and felt the desire for intimacy, emotional and physical. Open relationships however are interpreted as ugly, treasonous, irresponsible, shameful, and unacceptable. Behind this undisputed social norm often lies a lot of fear in the form of jealousy, fed by the concept of possessing somebody’s heart and body as if they were objects. The possibility of loving multiple people at the same time unconditionally, purely, and non-possessively is seen as insane and interpreted in the most vulgar and dirty manner. The Earth is starving for love, but when it arises between people outside a couple, it has to be brutally suppressed and suffocated.
Commonplace cruelty, indifference, and brutality
I live by the sea, and every time I come to the beach, I gather plastic waste. 20 years ago when plastic was only starting to invade everything, I knew it would be a planetary disaster, but nobody seemed concerned. It wasn’t me who left straws and cans on the beach, and most people in the developed world know nowadays that it takes hundreds of years to degrade and that it kills the ocean. Yet all those people feel fine to just see it floating and flying around, because it’s not theirs, and so it is not their responsibility. They still do not understand that it’s their home, their health, their future, and their lives that are directly concerned. This indifferent, egoistic attitude extends over doing and observing cruelty, violence, abuse, and war. Exposure to adversity has been so big that people became desensitized against it, or they never had this sensitivity in the first place.
All these things, and many others, are deeply shocking to me. I am not innocent, I have been through a long cycle of incarnations on this planet, and I have my load of karma, yet living in this world is painfully foreign to me, up until today.
All this may sound like lamentations of a lonely, helpless soul. The good news is that over the last decade there has been an awakening among many earthlings, pushing them to act for change in favor of justice, equity, protection, and care. This is not something you will see in the mainstream media, still filled with the messages of division, fear, and uncertainty, but the process has begun. Personally, for me, it is frustratingly slow, however. The question I am asking, like many other Starseeds, is -
Why Am I Here and What I am Supposed to Do?
My humble answer, gathering all the research and inquiry I have done, is the following.
We are souls who decided to come on Earth and help its healing and ascension by our own will. It is possible that we lost our home due to some sort of galactic apocalypse and found a refuge entering the cycle of earthly incarnations. Every family of Starseed souls may have its own reasons and history, but this is not what matters most. I know many of us feel we have been punished by being sent to this place reminding of prison so much. We haven’t come here clear and innocent but brought our ancient wounds and karmic debts. We are on Earth to heal them in the most intense and effective manner, no matter how painful. At the same time, we are here to bring our unique vision and trigger global change.
Personally, I have always felt like I’m on a mission, and I know many Starseeds recognize this feeling. I have reached midlife and so far all I have done is tons of healing, and it’s still a work in progress. I haven’t found my place in any job and have been rejected by all the organizations I wanted to work at. In the meantime, along the way I have helped a few souls that I met, gently shook some to awaken, and gave the best of my heart and mind to everyone who wanted and needed it. Most of my talents and knowledge have not been used until now. This feels like a very little mission for my big and ambitious soul, but the only way to carry on is to keep calm and stay humble.
As an old soul, it seems like I have to learn the hardest lessons, those of letting go of control, surrendering to the force above, accepting the emptiness, and living with humility and trust. Through very painful experiences, gradually I have understood that what I do here on Earth and when is not up to my own will. So I keep on living my hermitic life, filled with purely domestic duties most of the time. Through all the healing experiences I have had, I understood that stepping on your mission is conditional upon many factors that can be outside of control not only of your mind but even of your soul. “Finding” your mission through lots of introspection, trying and research, buying a course to be guided and helped, or hiring a coach isn’t how it happens, at least for such Starseeds as me.
I can only pray to the heavens that my soul fulfills its plan to do what it came to do and not be blocked by anything that wasn’t originally intended. In the meantime, I want to greet you, dear reader, for you are one of us. I know how desperate for healing you have been, and how thirsty for knowledge and action you are. We are together, we are family, we are light. Let us shine together, no matter how obscure the Earth and our own destiny may look. Amen.
